Giveaway! Basq Skin Care

I was recently given the opportunity to test out some skin care products by Basq.  Basq NYC is a luxury skin care company specializing on 'mommy beauty' including maternity care (belly butter), and skincare focusing on nourishing, moisturizing, and rebalancing your skin.

The products are rigorously tested for allergy sensitivity and the entire line is paraben, phthalate, and animal testing free - so safe for mom and baby!  I have been swapping as many products as I can the last few years, and this line fits right into my made over medicine cabinet.  I actually hadn't been using eye cream for the last year, maybe longer, so I was really excited to start using one I knew was safe again.  My tired eyes really can't afford me skimping!

The Cucumber Tea Soothing Eye Gel is exactly that, a cool soothing gel.  I can't really comment if it gave me any defense or repair to wrinkles in the eye area, but it definitely helped with early morning puffiness and dark circles. I also used it nightly which may have helped as well.   I do hate washing my face at night, usually because I just want to hop in bed, but I hate even more having a fresh washed face without any moisturizer on it.  My skin is super dry, so I get a tight and dried out feeling.  The eye gel has kept the sensitive eye area nice and soft.

The company offers a wide range of products for body and face.  Including their award winning Advanced Stretch Mark Butter, Resilient Body Oils, a delicious Citrus Sugar Body Scrub, Illipe Body Butter and more. I was also able to try out the Resilient Body Oil and Illipe Body Butter.  The lavender pear scent of the oil is great.  Ever since my first pregnancy I can't deal with the smell of perfume, but I am finally coming around to the scents of essential oils and this falls into that category.  A light fresh scent, nothing parfume-y or too strong. I didn't find it to be greasy on my skin, but I just preferred using a lotion or cream to an oil.  The Illipe Body Butter is all my favorite qualities and I've been using every day.  A nice thick body cream, that doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or coated all day in thick layer.  It's creamy, yet absorbs well.  It also has a nice light scent.  Since I'm not currently pregnant and battling stretch marks, I decided to focus my use on other 'areas of concerns'.  Aside from wrinkles on my face, I focus on the skin on my chest and neck - since that can giveaway your age just as easy as crows feet and smile lines!  And also the skin on my thighs.  At 31, I'm definitely not in bad shape, but at the same time, I do see that my skin is starting to loose some of the tightness and always looks thirsty and the Illipe Body Butter provided.  I actually wish I knew about during pregnancy because it would have made the perfect belly butter.

Basq was kind enough to give my readers the opportunity to win a Fresh Face Kit.  A $48 value, you'll receive the Rebalancing Face Cleanser, Cucumber Tea Eye Gel, and brush.

Basq Skin Care is sold online at www.basqnyc.com and in boutiques and department stores worldwide, including Saks.com, A Pea in the Pod and Destination Maternity.  Happy Friday!

  8. I've been all about the anti aging eye creams for a long time. But as I'm still having a hard time coming to grips with my IF and trying everything under the sun so I've given up a lot of skin care lately hoping to find the right mix.
