Me, Me, Me - Anthro Picks!

So it went unmentioned, that for Mother's Day the Husband (and girls too of course) got me a gift card to Anthropologie.  He had heard me complain that I haven't bought any "real" clothes since before Ashlynn was born.  I went from pregnant to nursing to pregnant to back to nursing over the last 3 years, not to mention I stay home now so some of my old work wardrobe isn't exactly appropriate for doing dishes and changing diapers.  I have bought a new hoodie or two, but really no clothes for looking presentable in outside of Target, Wegmans, and Storytime.  And while my closet isn't bare, I'm getting tired of rotating the few nursing friendly and washable tops I cling to for every outing.

Since Kenley is starting solids and hopefully the spit up episodes continues to dwindle, I'll be less fearful of wearing something pretty and having it ruined. I can only get away wearing my favorite 3 shirts for so long.

I only bought two shirts, a tank and blouse, and decided to hold the remainder to put towards something for Fall or maybe a cute accessory.  During my online search (no way I could shop in store with two kids in tow), I realized I haven't even online window shopped for myself in ages.  If the gift card was a bit larger, here's what I would have stocked my closet with!

What store has been on point for you for this sumer?  Are you a mommy with style or are in the mommy style rut and borderline an audition away from What Not to Wear?

  1. #4 needs to get in my closet now! I still have a nursing (and plan on more kiddos) so I will be sticking with nursing friendly clothes for awhile. I haven't done much shopping lately, but I'm holding off until the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in July. I always overindulge for that!

  3. I love the tank and the blouse you bought! Anthro is my "in my dreams" shopping spree spot. I love buying clothes there, but unless I'm shopping for a special occasion I learn more on Old Navy and Target for clothes. Very sad, but true. I think I could def be on What Not to Wear. I'm a total mess these days!

  8. I'm not really planning on wearing silks or other non-mom friendly tops, even after nursing ends, there are stille sticking fingers and whatnot, but it is nice to treat yourself every once and while! And at least next time I need to "dress up" (something not sweats) I'll have new options to pick from, yay! And I love the Nordstrom Anni Sale, it's trouble though!!

  10. The blouse is gorgeous. I want to make an occasion or date night just to wear it, I love it. And seriously, most of my clothes since being a mom are from Gap, Target (tanks and vnecks), or In Bloom - I seriously stocked up on those Piko Tops I reviewed, best casual/nursing top EVER.

  11. Me too! I haven't shopped there really since having kids, but I would always find the cutest (and cheapest) dresses there!

I'm pretty sure the What Not To Wear camera crew is following me as we speak. Now that I'm a SAHM I don't know what to wear!! Dressing up I. Work clothes I could do, but casual baffles me and I end up in the same tee and jeans like every day.

  14. OBSESSED with the tank you got! Adorable!! I totally feel you on the no normal clothes thing. My wardrobe is looking awfully drab since having a baby (18 months ago) and seems to be full or workout clothes. I mean, I work out daily but some normal clothes would certainly help!

Wouldn't it be great if there was a budget Anthropologie?

  20. I'm with you... totally in a style rut. I wear the same thing every week to work and don't buy anything unless I can wear it to work. I'm so boring. Weekends I wear the same thing too. I LOVE all your choices!!! I would so love to shop at Anthro for all my clothes but I can only really afford to when there is a sale :) So much cute!
