[Little Room #2] Kenley Drew's Nursery Tour

I finally got my act together and got some pictures for you of Miss Kenley's room.  Technically, she's still yet to make it her (nightly) home, but that's okay, it's pretty much every one's favorite room in the house... even her sister.

I am in the midst of making an update to the gallery wall, so I'll share that update once its done - it's pretty minor, but I think it's an improvement.  Otherwise, I feel the room is pretty complete.  We still need to get black out shades, but since she isn't actually sleeping in her room, we haven't made it a priority.

I also really wanted a side table to place next to the chair (like these or this), but have decided to wait and see if it's necessary.  The "idea" of having a place to set my coffee is more of a dream since I can't ever place my coffee at toddler level, nor hold a hot cold coffee while sitting with or nursing a baby anyway.  I think we'd be better off with some baskets to hold her favorite books, but we have some time before hitting that stage.

Anyway, on to the tour!

  6. Great job! Looks beautiful. Question: did you buy a new crib (one for each child)? I am trying to decide on what will be best (will have a newborn and 24 month old come August). The crib we currently have is convertible though. Where is your crib from? Thanks!!!

  10. We have two cribs, ours are 19 m apart and Ashlynn isn't quite ready for the transition. I wrote a post about it maybe in October or November. The crib is a Baby Mod Modena, linked above. Every child is different, your May be ready to switch at two years, but I wouldn't do it right when the baby arrives, too much at once.

  12. I just ADORE this space! So pretty, feminine and whimsical. Perfect for a little girl. Target has the CUTEST side tables right now...definitely worth looking into for next to the chair. I like it just for setting the bottle down, or my lanolin or whatever else you need for nursing. Love the closet too! So so cute!!

  15. This post seriously makes me want a new house--STAT! I'm working on my (nearly) 18 month old daughters room/playroom right now and trying to figure out how to slightly redo the nursery for #2 (due 2/26)...and it's tough! Limited budget + small space + slanted ceilings = UGH! I LOVE what you've done here--such elegance and style...and LIGHT. Just beautiful. Great job!

  18. I'll have to check the tables out! Sometimes they have cute ones, but I'm always weary of anything metal or with glass (especially with the clumsy toddler around) I'm sure we'll find something eventually, we didn't get Ashlynn's until (from target!) until we moved to this house.. wish I would have bought two!

  19. The closet is my favorite, I nixed so many houses we looked out when buying because of lack of closet space. Husband wanted a yard, I wanted closets LOL

  20. Thank you! I definitely hope this room will grow with her, between redoing the rest of the house and probably moving Ashlynn from her room to a bigger room down the hall when she gets a "big girl" room, I don't think we'll have the budget to redo this one any time soon!!

  22. Thanks Charlotte, I really did have so much putting this room together... especially since it is sooo girly, which usually isn't my style at all. It was so fun to do, I'm glad I embraced my feminine side!

Erinn, the nursery is gorgeous! I love every detail, especially those adorable dresses you framed. The gold polka dots in the closet are such a fun addition. I really love the Sherwin Williams Vaguely Mauve in here. I'd love to feature it on my paint color blog, Involving Color. Let me know if you're interested!

  29. Can you tell me how you secured the clothes rod to ikea shelving in the closet? Wondering if you drilled into the shelf or found another way around it. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hi Jennifer! We just screwed the rods directly into the shelf. I was afraid that using a drill might splinter or crack the ikea particle board, so we just screwed them by hand slowly. Hope that helps!
