Today I'm over at Julia's blog, My life in Transition, sharing in her Moms Make it Work Series talking a bit about my career background, how we came to the decision for me to become a Stay at Home Mom, and what I plan for the future.

This was so great Erinn!! Thanks for sharing! And even though our society pushes towards working moms and women I think it's so great when children are raised by their parents! As a teacher I appreciate the parents who love their kids and teach them their values!!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for awhile now, but had no idea you used to work in accounting. I'm a CPA and can totally understand not wanting to go through all of the exam and CPE junk. In a few years, maybe I can be in your situation too!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved this! It was beautifully written! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI can so relate to everything you said. I, too, was a double finance and accounting major in college. And I also decided the CPA just wasn't worth it, and ultimately while I still have to work, I dream of being at home. Thanks for this post! I'm your newest follower :)
ReplyDeleteToddler calligraphy! That so should be the next big thing! =)
ReplyDeletegreat post!
ReplyDeleteI know right! I'm almost afraid to google it and find out it's a real thing
ReplyDeleteLove that! While writing I was so afraid no one would relate and I would be judged, it makes me feel so good I was so wrong!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Karra!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a CPA and only keeps it active because his company pays for the CPE credits, I can't imagine having to do it yourself if not in a role where a CPA is required - can get crazy expensive! And kudos to you for passing the exam! I think I had one part down and was studying for a few others when I was just like "I HATE ACCOUNTING!" lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ashley! I definitely think working moms can provide a similar home and upbringing, but being raised by a mom who was home until I was 10, I just really appreciated my childhood and hope my children feel the same way some day!
ReplyDeleteErinn, I love love loved your post! It was really interesting to get your "back story" and see how you really transitioned into your new role as a mommy. They say everything happens for a reason and now you know why! :)
ReplyDeleteMy boss pays for my CPE as well, thank goodness! And some days I think "I HATE ACCOUNTING" too! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I know that they will! You're doing an awesome job and love your girls so much!
