December has been a ton fun, rightly so. We brought home a new baby, had snow storm after snow storm, baked a ton of cookies, read Christmas books, waited for the mail every day to receive Christmas cards and fun packages, and even participated in a mommy blogger Secret Santa gift swap for our littles.
Who doesn't love receiving mail?? Definitely not me... or Ashlynn!
Our Santa, Jessica and Harper from Little Baby Garvin, sent us the sweetest gift... tailored perfectly for us. Our card came captioned "On Wednesdays We Wear (and READ) Pink!"
We received Jennifer Adams Baby Lit version of Alice in Wonderland colors book, which has been on our wishlist for ages, and a gorgeous hardback book, Flora and the Flamingo. The illustrations are so pretty I'm tempted to use this children's book as coffee table book. That way we both win.
Also, these photos weren't staged. I let Ashlynn open the box and she immediately took her goods to her teepee and got her read on. Precious child.
We also received the cutest hair clips and the most adorable snowman straws that will definitely be seeing some smoothie action this weekend while we decorate gingerbread cookies and wait for Santa to come by on the fire truck!
We used Elfster.com to set up the swap, which was super easy to use. We even were able to include notes about our littles favorite things, clothing sizes, and even add items to our wishlist to give our Santa's some ideas. We capped the spending limit at $20 and tried to be as creative as we could to send gifts that would be well loved.
Thank you so much Jessica and Harper!
We played Secret Santa for sweet Owen at Dear Owen! Check out Emily's post to see what we came up with for his holiday gift.

I grew up on the Jersey shore. When I was 10, my parents moved our family to the RURAL north Georgia mountains. Think Deliverance. Same town. I remember as a child in NJ that Santa always came on Christmas Eve on the fire truck. It was such a fun memory. And you mentioning it has suddenly made me crazy emotional this morning! Arg. I know live in suburban Atlanta and I have a daughter who is almost 15 months. I wish our town did this! Your girls are adorable and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteGrew up at the Jersey Shore too!! This is probably one of my top 5 Christmas memories, I'm glad you loved it too! And I'm also thankful they do it here in PA so my daughters can carry on the memory

ReplyDeleteI grew up in Brielle specifically. Gosh, it was such an amazing place to grow up. I wish I could go back! I miss the north, but I am sure my acquired southern accent would be slightly out of place. :)
ReplyDeleteCute cute cute! Thanks again for organizing and including us! We had a blast shopping for our giftee and Mac loved his gift! I hope we can do it again next year!

ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteI also noticed, and wanted to give you a heads up that you have some League of Angels advertisements on your site. At the bottom of your right column under your sponsers/archives ect. I'm sure they are not authorized to be on this, oh so cute, baby blog. I know other bloggers (Young House Love) have also had trouble with them and had to block them. Just thought you should know, because the advertisement is...um...a bit inappropriate.
Thank you so much for letting me know, I'll get it removed!!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea and I really like this gifts and I really want to use all these new books, thanks for sharing your blog with us.
