Weekend Wrap Up

I'd first like to thank every one that left a comment on Friday's post.  I've tried to respond to everyone directly as I know it can be a personal topic.  If I didn't get a chance to respond, blogger did not provide an email address and for that I apologize.  Thank you all for allowing me to use this site as place to share things deeper than weekend recaps and my favorite toddler clothing.  I know I haven't chronicled my experience in it's entirety and only mention it from time to time, but that's all I am capable of doing.  Thank you for all the support it means more than you imagine.

On to the weekend!

I had my 32 Week appointment in the morning, the doctor decided to check again for dilation due to all the contractions.  Luckily still closed, however baby is measuring behind so I'll be going for an ultrasound in a week to make sure everything looks okay.  Ashlynn also fell behind around this time and thankfully caught up, hoping its the same thing and not anything more worrisome or another indication of a pre-term labor.   The Husband has started working later as it's his busy time of year - lining up perfectly with our new arrival (oops), so he didn't get home until close to Ashlynn's bedtime, but they got in their nightly QT and then we finally watched The Dark Knight Rises.  We NEVER go to the movies.  The last movie we saw was Superman (not the one this year with Henry Cavill, the one like 7 years ago with Kate Bosworth).  We netflix everything and usually we stick to TV Shows.

Saturday, he was originally supposed to be gone for the whole day spending time with some family, but decided between some work commitments he had to wrap up, spending time with A, and lending me a much needed hand, he would stay home.  It was a great surprise and we were so thankful to have our first "family" weekend in what feels like ages.  I was thankful because Saturday ended up being a rough day for me and I spent a lot of it chugging water and trying to lay down.  It was nice to have extra eyes and hands to chase a toddler around.  He was successful in getting the closet together for the most part (just have to screw the bars we finally got cut to size into the shelving), and hanging one of two curtain rods.  We ran some errands, where I ended up in the car, and did some much needed cleaning.  And finished the night with some turkey chili and The Great Gatsby.

Sunday we started with some banana pancakes and continued to work a bit on the nursery.  The grass got cut and got a lot of teepee work done during nap time since I was out of commission on Saturday.  After we headed over to the Husband's company picnic and enjoyed the gorgeous weather... and some cotton candy and funnel cake too.  There were balloon animals, pumpkin painting, and some inflatables, even ones for Ashlynn's size.

After we swung through Ikea to grab our chair for the nursery and few other items.  I have to say, I'm finally feeling a little better about our progress.  Just need to go through the clothes, hang the decor, sew the trim on the curtains, whip up a few pillows and blankets, and probably grab another lamp.  Everything else has been ordered or is just waiting to be "finished".   On to digging all the baby gear out of the basement and giving it a good cleaning!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  2. My husband amped up his work schedule right before Riley arrived too, I guess better now than after she's born, right? Banana pancakes and nursery decorating sound like a perfect weekend! Thinking good thoughts for your next appointment, remember to take it easy and not work too hard :)
