[Girl Moms] On Wednesdays We Wear Pink... in our visions

Hi! I'm Brittany from Pretty Little Elm and I'm so excited to be guest blogging with Erinn! I am the lucky Mama of one energetic, sweet, a little crazy and funny 18 month old baby girl named Emersyn Marie. Can I still say baby? I hope so, because lately she has been getting SO big and I'm not ready for it!

When we found out we were pregnant, we were beyond excited. I called my doctor right away and she said that she didn't need to see me until 9 weeks. What?! I had no idea what to expect with pregnancy, but one thing I will say is this - I expected a lot more in the beginning and time seemed to crawl by waiting for that appointment.

I bought maternity clothes months before I needed them, read the "birth club forums" every day, lived for the week to week baby updates, and knew how old Em was down to the week and day. {Why yes.. she's 19 weeks and 3 1/2 days..thanks for asking!} In other words, I might have gone a little baby crazy.

I've always seen myself as a girl mom. Because of that.. I was convinced we were going to have a boy. Haha.

Once we found out Sweet Em was a girl, everything took on a whole new meaning of real. I saw her future. I saw our memories. I saw everything that I couldn't imagine before I knew she was a girl. I would just sit in her little nursery and think about what our lives would be with her in it.

Life with Em has been perfect. Not perfect in the sense of every day is rainbows and butterflies.. because obviously we know as Mamas.. not all days are like that! But it has been perfect in the sense that being her Mama has been a true blessing. I love how much she makes us laugh. I love her kisses and cuddles. I love her dancing. I love how curious she is. I love that I can dress her in crazy mis-match outfits that involve neon colors and tutus.. and it is totally acceptable. I love our girl time and I love the bond that she has with her Daddy.

I just love being a mom. I'm sure if Em ended up being a boy, I would feel the same exact way about being a {boy}mom.. but it's hard to imagine that it could get much better than this!

My hubby is convinced we are going to have ALL girls.. and I'm pretty okay with that. :) Except for the wedding bills.. hmm.. but that's too far away to worry about. :)

Thanks Erinn for letting me share! I just LOVE being a girl mom and can't wait to follow your journey with 2 beautiful little ladies! :)

  1. I live watching the bond between Ellie and her daddy too! It's so special.

  2. She's so adorable!! and what a successful pumpkin picture... Mine was born November 2nd so we couldn't do it last year and I think he's too big (and wiggly) this year ;)
