[Bumpdate] 7th Month

With my due date officially under 2 months away, I'm in my 8th month and ready to jump ahead to the end - almost!

How far along? 31 Weeks (technically 31 weeks 6 days)

Total weight gain/loss: At my last appointment at 30 weeks, I'm up 18 pounds total.  Also, I passed my GTT which I think happened right after my last update.

Maternity clothes? Finally put away my non-mat shorts I've been wearing day in and day out now that the weather has cooled and broke out my Old Navy maternity leggings.  Hoping not to have any reason to wear anything but them (and other leggings) until next year.  (Unlikely, but hey a girl can dream!)

Stretch marks? No, finally using my Mama Bee Belly Butter more regularly, I let Ashlynn help rub it in.  She loves saying hi to Kenley ("Kahhh"), so cute.

Symptoms: I bitched a lot last time, and pretty much everything still stands.  Acid reflux nightly... sometimes in the morning so I've ditched coffee (not completely) since it usually aggravates it.   Back pain, specifically the rib pain I had with Ashlynn has returned. Occasional leg cramps.  I've separated muscles in my abdomen.  I asked the doctor if it was a hernia and she said not yet, just to watch for excruciating pain (wtf?.. um, okay). And of course, the out of control daily Braxton Hicks.

I'm assured at every visit it's completely normal, especially for a second time pregnancy.  That a lot of my symptoms are because my body never got a chance to fully recover from the last pregnancy.  The contractions are pretty uncomfortable, but not painful.  I'm also at the point where I feel totally stretched.  I remember this feeling from Ashlynn, not sure exactly when, but it was sometime around now.  Stomach is hard as rock and again I wonder, I am I supposed to last another 8 weeks and continue to grow?  It happens, but how?!

Sleep: Pretty good.  I get up to pee 1-3x depending and occasionally have to tend to Ashlynn if teething or lost a paci, etc.  But she's been in a pretty good phase of sleeping through, so I've at least enjoyed some solid shut eye for the most part.  I did have a night of insomnia this week, and it at least lined up with the same night Ashlynn had it, but hoping that doesn't fully kick in for a few more weeks.

Miss Anything?  Being pain free.  And walking like I'm not the hutch back of Notre Dame.

Movement: Yes.  Lots. She's thumping around all the time, all hours of the day.  Definitely is a bit relieving during the contraction spells to feel her moving and kicking.  Also getting those big sweeping movements, love them.

Food cravings:  Still mainly carbs, sweets, and ice cream.  And milk.  I used to be a big milk drinker (skim or 1%) and when Ashlynn had her dairy intolerance, I switched to almond.  I still use almond and buy whole for her.  The last few nights I've been drinking glasses of whole milk, I should probably just buy myself some skim.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I get a gross acid reflux after taste.  And a lot of food just doesn't sound appetizing.  I actually haven't been eating a lot the last week or so, at least compared to earlier in the pregnancy.

Have you started to show yet: YES!

Baby is a: GIRL!!!

Belly Button in or out? Yeah, it's out.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Still fairly moody.  I'm hitting major "nesting" mode and the calendar has been so jam packed that the we haven't had a weekend to ourselves in well over a month.  Meaning, nothing is getting done!  Makes me anxious. And annoyed when more plans or requests pop up - this is all relating to the Husband's out of control social calendar.  I need his help and Sundays are always shot to shit with football and Fantasy meltdowns, so Saturdays are my days!!!

Looking forward to:  Actually getting some time to ourselves to work on our laundry list of projects!  And starting to dig out all the baby gear to prep/wash.  Can't believe we are at this point!

    1. They definitely are, I think it's that way to prepare you to want your baby NOW! And i didn't even get the last month with Ashlynn!!

  3. You look fantastic Erinn! I hope you guys will be able to carve out the time you need to finish your pre-baby tasks -- I know all too well how easily a Sunday can be wasted (football). I seriously laughed when you said "Fantasy meltdowns" because Keith has freakouts like the world is ending over his Fantasy team every weekend.

    1. Thank you! And so glad, I'm not alone. He spends the majority of the day texting his friends (other guys in the league) and checking the updates. Can barely squeeze quality time out of him once the games start, let alone "honey do" tasks!

  6. The second time around when they are this close is so tough. My pregnancy was much harder that second time and I did the whole dizzy spell thing all the time. Docs could never give me too many answers on why I felt so bad or why I was dizzy and they didn't have to really, I could feel it was because my body had down this twice in two years! It's crazy because I felt like I had healed so quickly after the first pregnancy but clearly my body and blood were not ready to double again so soon without consequences. You just gotta make it 5 more weeks til full term! Even though I know that seems like forever... I totally remember every bit of that feeling. Hang in there!

    1. I didn't even think about the blood increase, I know my spells are from my low blood pressure, but that makes a lot of sense. I'm trying hard to relish it since it's my last, but I just would rather skip ahead and hold my tiny little baby!

    2. I have extremely low blood pressure as well and it drops even lower during pregnancies! I bet that's why we both experience the dizzy spells!

  12. My fave photos are of you and Ashlynn. Hoping that the leggings stay through the new year. And that Kenley stays in there longer than A, even if its uncomfortable.
