[Shortcakes] Stats!

Ashlynn had her 15 month check up yesterday.  Here's her current stats!

Weight:  20lb 7oz (35%), up about a pound from her 12m appt
Height:  30" (24%), up two inches!
Head:  18" (44%)

She also got the dreaded MMR and VZC shots, so far so good with no fever, rash, or extra crankiness. She took a stellar afternoon nap, but was a bit tough going down for bed.  The doctor did detect a slight heart murmur, but said not to worry and they'll just keep their eye on it at upcoming appointments.  As far as developmental milestones she seems right on track.

She also said MULTIPLE teeth were coming in, and that even her molars were swollen.  Guess everyone was right about them coming all at once.  Her right side front top is almost through her gums, but the left side is dropping like crazy each day.  It's so funny to see her with teeth, like real big front teeth, not just two tiny little bottom guys.  After seeing an adorable gummy smile for 15 MONTHS it's crazy seeing her face change like this.

Mimi also unexpectedly came to visit for a few days.  I'm hoping to use the extra "babysitting"to get to work on some tiny teepees!  Stay tuned, big things coming soon!

  1. My daughter just got her top 2 teeth (which brings us to a whopping 4 total) and man those suckers took FOREVER to cut through the gums but once they did it seemed like they came all the way down really quickly! She looks so much older now!

Have you found anything that you really think helps her with teething? I don't want to medicate it constantly but I hate the idea of her being in pain.

    1. She really seems to be taking the teething in stride... some nights she's been a bit fussier than normal when going to sleep and the Hyland's Teething Tablets seem to help. I haven't given tylenol in quite a while for teething and usually only do when she's waking in the middle of night crying from pain since it breaks my heart. She usually seems worse for wear before they start making their appearance and when they are cutting she's not quite as bad about it.

    1. Don't worry too much! It's heartbreaking holing them down but A only ever cries for 30 secs and the is done. Her first round is shots she slept the whole day, we've been lucky to handle them well never anything worse then some crankiness and low fevers. Good luck!

  4. Hello! Just wanted to say hi - I'm coming over from Julie's blog and have a 14.5 month old. Our babies are not quite babies anymore, are they?! I'm still not ready to have a toddler. I'm in total denial. Anyway, I'm a new follower!

  5. What a cutie!! I love that she is getting so big an finally starting to get teeth!! I have heard a lot about Amber Teething Necklaces and that they really do work. I think I will have to invest in one when Ellie gets older! http://www.amberartisans.com/amtene.html
