I finally got the Husband started on the nursery this weekend. It was a heinous shade of tan-ish brown, with sloppy and streaky brown painted trim, doors, and windowsills. Oh, and the closet was blue.
So lots of priming was necessary, especially since we are going with such a light mauve/gray tone (SW Vaguely Mauve) and painting the trim back to white. We removed the closet doors entirely. I'm not really a fan of sliding closet doors because I like to have the whole closet open and available, not just one half at a time. Growing up I had bi-fold closet doors and I can't remember them ever being closed, so I don't have a problem seeing into the closet, so long as it is kept tidy. We may have to revisit this in the adolescent and teenage years!
Anyway, the room is thankfully primed and I'm hoping to convince him to start edging this week. Can't wait to get started with furniture and decor. Clock is ticking!
So that's what we are working with. The room is an amazing size and has a ceiling fan, which is the main reason Baby K is getting the space over Ashlynn. I can't wait for the transformation to begin!

The back of the door matched the closet doors.
we also ditched the closet shelving, going to make a more functional system for a child
love the windows in the room
don't mind our old mattress, whole another story, maybe not even for another day. too annoying to even start.
windowsill, also brown
quality people. quality.
Can't wait to see how it turns out. Sounds like we are doing similar colors:) I have thought about ditching our closet does too- we have bi fold ones and I hate them!!
