[Bumpdate] 5th Month

Seriously... another month down?  Where is time going?  I can't possibly be entering my 6th month of pregnancy, I had to check multiple sites to make sure the sixth month starts at 21 weeks and not 24.  November seems so far away, but when looking at the calendar I know time is going to continue to fly.

How far along? 20 Weeks (technically 20 weeks 6 days)

Total weight gain/loss: As of my appointment last this past Monday, I was up 7 pounds total.  I gained 4lbs this last month, so I guess those donuts are finally starting to catch up.

Maternity clothes? Here and there.  Still wearing my normal non-mat shorts  pretty much daily and I wear my beloved Gap Body Maternity Tanks and sometimes the tees.  Usually I just throw on a loose non-maternity tank over the cami, it's been so hot I really haven't gotten too dressed up.  I tried to blow dry my hair once and nearly died and needed another shower after I was done.

Stretch marks? Nope.  Using my Mama Bee Belly Butter, but hoping genetics keep me safe.

Symptoms: Nothing crazy, still tired but more from my lack of sleep (next section).  I get full easily, but am hungry all the time - except during the recent heat wave. So far have been free of the rib pain I experienced with Ashlynn - Hallelujah!  I do get a lot of round ligament pain (the ligaments on the sides of the uterus) when picking up Ashlynn or getting her from the crib.

Sleep: Is pregnancy insomnia a real thing?  I wake up to pee, or hearing Ashlynn cry out (she does this then goes right back to sleep), or the Husband's 30 day "I'm not sick cough" and then can't sleep.  I'll be up for hours.   So sleep sucks at the moment.

Miss Anything? Nothing off the top of my head.

Movement: Little kicker!  It's not constant, but I feel it a few times throughout the day.  I can feel it on the outside and the Husband felt it too.  I actually caught a kick or two once, but haven't really seen it since... although I haven't really been looking.

Food cravings:  Same as last month.  Sweets - baked goods and carbs and Salty - pasteurized feta, olives, pickles.  I'm a cliche.   I also crave things and then as soon as I eat them decide they make me nauseous.  That one is fun.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really.  Unless I eat too much junk or crap food. Like the other day when I ate two donuts back to back.  Oops.

Have you started to show yet: YES!

Baby is a: GIRL!!!

Belly Button in or out? Yeah, it's out.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Still having mood swings, still blaming lack of slep.

Looking forward to:  Starting the nursery and prepping for baby girl!  I'm going to go through all Ashlynn's packed away clothing and find what will work for us since their seasons are different and slowly figure out what we will need for Little K.

  8. You look awesome! I agree those week/month counts aren't very intuitive. I think it's because they assume all months have 4 weeks but that's definitely not the case. I saved myself the confusion by just counting months on the calendar so I wouldn't have to explain why I was 10 months pregnant (if I had reached 40 weeks). Love that you show a comparison with that same shirt!

  10. You look awesome girlfriend! November will be here before you know it, our little on was born in October and I remember thinking this time last year that it was ages away...then BAM, I was giving birth! And I can totally relate to the whole trying to blowdry your hair while pregnant in the summer thing, I had to touch-up my makeup once I was done ;) Enjoy this time :)
