[Five and Five] Let's Be Friends!

Happy Friday, Friends!  Here's my pseudo Five and Five/Friday Five post... I should really just conform and switch my titles over, but I kind of like the freedom to posting five things whenever the mood strikes!

In case you forgot, we are days away from the end of everyone's beloved Google Reader.  I made the switch months back to BlogLovin' and have to say, I'm a big fan.  Dare I say, I like it better - especially it's mobile app and how it updates and keeps all the unread posts gathered at the top, something I never was able to get it to do with the app I used for Google Reader.

Anyway, if you are looking to make the switch, please head over and follow me (and Ashlynn) with BlogLovin' or Feedly, which seems to be another popular choice for getting your blog fixes!

Also, please feel free to keep on voting for Ashlynn's Little Room through Sunday!

Speaking of nurseries, I'm finalizing my mood boards for my nursery ideas... and getting super excited about it in the process!  I really haven't thought too much about it, so they are definitely loose starting points, but I can't wait to share them next week!

We've got six hours of slated car travel tomorrow - please say a prayer for our child who hates the car with a fiery passion.  Three hours up and back for a friend's 1st birthday party... we'd also appreciate a day without a passing tortential downpour/thunderstorm, which would definitely make the trip less fun.  And let's be honest, this is the mid-Atlantic, not Florida.

Another month has passed where I'm falling behind on my sewing challenge (12 projects in 12 months)  I've only made 4 projects so far, so I have some catching up to do!  I did get a start on Ashlynn's teepee, but then ran into a problem (more like I messed up) and decided to start over.  I have a few other projects lined up, so hopefully this month I can catch up!

And again, don't forget to vote, thanks lovers!  Happy Weekend!

  1. SIX HOURS... With a bust toddler. At least the birthday party will wear her out and the ride home will be quiet? Can't wait to see nursery ideas... You seriously have amazing taste/are a design goddess :)

    1. I sure hope so! And they have a pool, so if she's not getting enough action with all the kids, toys, and excitement, I'll pack her suit and take her in before we bounce! Thank you so much for the sweet comment! I love decorating so much, I wish I would have majored in it instead practical accounting and finance, lol! If only there was a way to make a living (or a contributing income) doing it, I'd be in heaven!

  2. Just voted! And she's in the lead, yay!

Good luck with the roadtrip tomorrow. Arden hates the car too, so if you come across any life-changing tips please let me know! ;)

    1. Thank you!! I'm pretty sure the tip is to turn the carseat around, but I just can't bring myself to do it. If she was off the charts with her height I'd consider doing it before she turns 2, but I'm almost positive Arden is taller (or same height)! She was 28" at 12months... she'd actually still fit the guidelines of her infant carrier!

I'm hoping puffs do the trick in distracting. Usually I don't do food in the car, but since I'm not driving, I could always jump back if need be, and obviously she's a lot better with food and chewing at this age.

  3. I can't wait to see the nursery ideas too! Ashlynn's room is so cool--you are seriously talented! Looks like you've got 36% of the votes so far!! --and mine of course!

Have you blogged about your sewing? I've gotta see what you've done! I want to get into sewing, but I'd have to buy a machine first--but that's an investment, right?

    Happy weekend!

    1. I have blogged, it was my new year's resolution to learn and actually do things! My mom bought me a machine for my bday (nothing like welcoming your 30s learning to sew like an old lady lol) I have a few projects lined up and just got some fabric so hoping this is a busy month on it!

I think the machine I have ranges from $80-120 on amazon, so not cheap by any means, but not out of this world if you were really interested. Thanks for voting!
