18ish... there is actually a scale in the house, I should probably use it!
Last Thursday the runny nose came back with a nasty cough. I took her into the pedi to try to nip whatever was starting in the bud since her grandparents were still recovering from bronchitis and an upper respiratory infection. Luckily, she was still in the clear and it again passed by the next day.
Trying to break the 9:30-10pm waking that started after we moved in here. I'm refusing to let her soothe herself on me, so lots of rocking. She's still pretty consistent with the 2am and 5am waking, and I'd love to drop that last one too, but still thinking of waiting until we settle into the new house.
Busy week. After Christmas, we did Longwood Gardens, attempted a trip to our niece's 5th birthday party but turned around halfway from bad conditions on the turnpike, saw the nieces the next day since they came to visit us, celebrated New Year's Eve with a well timed midnight feeding, and went to brunch for my 30th birthday!
Another week of not being crazy over food. Did some more peaches, apples, zucchini peas, and carrots. Tried our first packet of HappyBaby spinach, mango, and pear.
The best part was when she started feeding herself with the spoon. She wasn't happy each time I took it to put some more food on, but she did a pretty good job of making her mouth after. We also started puffs yesterday. The husband was a bit scared about the choking factor, and me too, so as gross as this might be, I "baby birded" them. Ha. I let them get a tad soft in my mouth and then place them on her tray so they wouldn't be so dry in case she tried to immediately swallow them. She loved trying to work on her little pincer grip and even got a few in her mouth and "chewed" like she should. I think next time I'll let her take them dry since she seems to 'get it'.
Baby Gear Love:
Fold and Carry Floppy Seat makes eating out with A so easy. She's comfy in the wooden (and germy) highchairs and all her toys are attached keeping me from constantly grabbing things, and then wiping them down, off the floor.
Had a major freakout Saturday night, when the family came home from a party (we stayed behind), and the dogs barked when they pulled up. It must have startled her out of her sleep and freaked her out. Took a while to calm her down, but thankfully she went back to sleep.
She's definitely working on her waving. Doesn't do it all the time, but definitely raises her hand when we wave good morning or hello. She also successfully fed herself with a spoon and started puffs.
