When I was pregnant I searched high and low for the *perfect* baby book. I fell in love with this "Blessing Box", but it was a bit of out of my price range. I thought I could come up with something on my own, but ended up finding exactly what I was looking for on Etsy (via Pinterest), natch.
My biggest want was a "modern" baby book. No safari animals, precious moments, or little duckies and overkill of baby pink or blue. Ruby Love Designs absolutely fit the bill. I was able to pick my cover's fabric, and colors of the type for the pages. There are additional add-on packages to add details for your pregnancy, holidays, or years past 1.
In addition to the classic Baby Book, which also has plenty of blank pages and photo sleeves for pictures, I received one my favorite baby shower gifts to give - "Mom's One Line a Day". I've been giving these little memory diaries to almost all my new mommy friends this year, I was so glad to get one from my Maid of Honor in return. Great minds, right?
How have you marking your memories? Classic babybooks? Family Yearbooks? Diaries?

Oh wow. I wish I had known about these especially that one line a day one. :( I feel sad that I don't have it now and she is already 8 months old.
ReplyDeleteNever too late, it's a five year book! Typing could start now or wait until her First bday if you're OCD like me :). I can't wait to use it for all the funny things she says as she grows
DeleteIt's not letting me reply. True. I just wish I had it for all her little things she has done so far. I try to write them down but sometimes forget. If I knew there was a daily calendar like that, I would have gotten it. No one got me any of these cute things for my shower. :(
ReplyDeleteIts definitely something people overlook at showers, especially when shopping registries which is why I love to throw it in :).
DeleteI was really good about writing in it daily when she was a newborn, now I only mark milestones, special outing and events. I think when she's talking and playing more ill probably have more things to write, like how she might play kitchen and make me ice cream for breakfast or have a yea party
Tea party for her stuffed animals, etc. definitely lots that will be exciting to keep track of in the next five years :).
DeleteAww that is so sweet! I just sent the link to hubby and said I would REALLY like this for Xmas! HAHA
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Make a great stocking stuffer ;)
DeleteI love the memory book and the one line a day is such a great idea! I'll definitely be gifting that to any new moms.
ReplyDeleteI almost ordered this memory book for my LO and didn't because it was more than I wanted to spend. Seeing your post made me regret it, so I think I'm going to buy it and transfer information from the one I bought into it and then use it from here on out. Is that crazy even though my baby is almost 11 months? :)
ReplyDeleteI would def be that person who switches, unless I had mementos or special things like handprints saved in the first. You could always finish the "baby" book you have and maybe start a toddler book for the years up until school age?
DeleteWhat a cute baby book and I love the moms one line a day! Great Idea... need to get one asap! I've been going through pictures like crazy lately because I have so many and I need to get on her scrapbook soon, I only have 5 1/2 months till her first birthday party and I want it to be finished for the party:)
ReplyDeleteI also had a quick question for you if you wouldn't mind answering it! I'm still kinda new to e blogger and it looks like you have been doing it this for awhile so I thought you would be a good person to ask. It will not let me upload anymore photos to my blog its saying I'm out of space and I now need to purchase more space! Is there a way around this or is that what everyone does? I guess I just thought blogging was free so I thought I would ask before I buy anything! Thanks for your time!!
ReplyDeleteNope, I had the same issue for the first time in 4 years last week and so did another blogger friend. I think Google is just now starting to charge because I've never had an issue before :(
DeleteWe got a baby book from RubyLove as well and I'm obsessed with it!! It's so easy to fill in and I love the modern designs. My husband thought I was crazy for spending so much, but it's an heirloom that we'll have forever (and I already look through it and read the pages from when he was first born!).
ReplyDeleteThat's how I looked at it, and I knew if I bought a $20 from Barnes and Noble or something I'd end up wanting a different one any way...
DeleteSuper stylish Baby Book for little Miss A! Love it. I have got to get on filling Owen's out. I've been really good about writing in his 1st yr. calendar but not as great in the baby book. I've already started my list for the 1st Birthday! love the one line book-need it.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I started a 1st Bday Pinterest board when she was like 4months, LOL.
DeleteI have a sticker calendar too, but I try to keep up monthly with the baby book if I can
I also have a baby book from Ruby Love Designs for my daughter who is due this week. I haven't used it yet, but I'm so impressed with the design of it. Can't wait to start using it.
ReplyDeleteAww, so exciting! I wish you a safe and speedy delivery! Enjoy every moment, I still think about that day often ::tear::
DeleteI love this!! I have a baby book for both kids by Carter's actually, and I really love them. Definitely more traditional than yours but I figure since I also make books out of my blog posts for the kiddos they will be fine with ANY baby book on top of that work;)
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to make a book from all her weekly posts, overkill right?!
Deletei'm going to have to get one of those books! i have one for B but it is not as cute as this one. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all the different fabric options, and they are constantly changing as the inventory sells too!
DeleteThanks for the post about the baby book. I am ordering ASAP! I love that they are more modern and the pages are adorable!! Thanks!
