Almost from birth, family and friends have commented on how much Ashlynn looks like her daddy. And from what I hear, and believe, is that babies in general are typically born resembling the father to promote paternal bonding - nature hard at work!
Most days with the shape of Ashlynn's eyes, chin, and face, I see her daddy too.
But not everyday.....

Happy Friday!
How interesting! I had never heard that before. I am definitely a daddy's girl and still resemble him today :) You daughter is sooooo cute and I love the name, Ashlynn!!!
ReplyDeleteOut of my family and friends, I'd say its true for every 4 out of 5 babies ;) But I guess it's nature's way of showing paternity, you know?
DeleteThat's so cute! I never knew that about fathers and children; that's very interesting.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, she's a cutie! you guys do look alike. almost like twins! LOL.

haha thanks! I wouldn't say every picture, but every few it's like there I am!
DeleteYour photography skills are amazing. I have a 2 month old baby girl and just got my first real camera but I only shoot in auto mode. My pics do not come out nearly as nice as yours, especially not the indoor photos.:(
ReplyDeleteDo you mind sharing what camera settings you use or tips for photographing babies?
Thank you so much, Noley! I'm flattered since I consider myself a total DSLR novice.
DeleteThe lens and some simple picasa editing are definitely the biggest help ers. I typically use my 50mm f/1.8 lens. If using that lens (like the picture above) I shoot in Av mode and let the camera do the work in selecting shutter speed and ISO (unless I manually change it). I try to remember to adjust the WB, but even then I sometimes can't get it quite right. If I use the kit lens (18-55mm) I shoot in manual (M) since I seem to get better pictures than if I leave it in Av. It's A LOT of playing around adjusting the shutter speed and ISO before getting the lighting right. I use this lens to take the weekly photos. I'll try to do a post with some of 'tricks' :)
ThNks for the tips! I will try AV mode. Would love to see a post with more tricks! And your baby is adorable.
DeleteWow! I can totally see the resemblance!! And I agree about your photography skills...what kind of camera do you use?
ReplyDeleteI have a Canon Rebel T2i and usually use the 50mm f/1.8 lens. I'll try to do a photography post next week :)
