Weekend Recap

Again, with the busy weekends.

Started with a baby shower on Saturday, a bridal shower for Sunday brunch and ended with some celebratory Anniversary events last night.

To mark our one year, we enjoyed our 1st Anniversary Wine (aka our Guest Book... see details here).

(Waterford candlesticks gifted for our Anniversary by my Aunt)

and then we ate our wedding cake.  However, it didn't quite look the same as it did a year ago...

and after a little (not so gentle) restacking....

Surprisingly, it tasted awesome!  We both each ate our whole slice...  can't wait for more tonight ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  1. i'm actually LOLing because i made the exact same comment about our cake last night... i seem to remember it looking more appetizing. but it actually didn't taste half bad! congrats again on a whole year!

  2. haha, nice... congrats to you too Heather!! I hope your home brew beer turned out better than the cake ;)

  3. Haha! Wow... your cake tasted good? My husband and I couldn't even get to the second bite of ours on our first Anniversary. That junk was NASTY! It's good to hear that others have had better experiences with it. :)

  4. Our cake was disgusting on our first anniversary, we chunked it after one bite each. Glad yours was good, it looks yummy :)....and now I want cake!

  5. It looks good to me! Glad you had such a great weekend!

  6. So glad you enjoyed your weekend with the hubby. And so glad that the cake tasted good.

  7. Happy Anniversary! We celebrate our 7th today. =)

  8. Thanks everyone!... I can't believe the cake wasn't terrible... I heard so many horror stories (and of course looking a hot mess didn't help)

Happy 7th Anniversary to you and your Husband, J!

  9. Aww, happy (belated) anniversary! Glad you had a good weekend, E!

  10. Just found your blog this week (c/o Kim's Anthroholic) and have been checking back daily ever since - love it! Congrats on your anniversary - so glad you enjoyed it to the fullest!

Totally off-topic, but would you mind my asking where you found the canisters on your kitchen counter (e.g. sugar, flour)? I've been trying to find those exact canisters for what seems like forever now, but to no avail. Thanks in advance!

  11. Thanks Chloe!

Hi Dawn, and Thanks! The canisters are from Williams Sonoma, I've had them for over 2 years and they're still my favorite kitchen accessory :)

  12. Looks like you had a fun weekend! We ended up throwing out our cake on our first anniversary (is that bad luck??) because it looked so gross. I wasn't about to eat it, but I'm so glad yours still tasted yummy.

I love hearing from my readers! Be sure to check back as I try to respond to all comments and questions here in the comment form :)
