Summer Wishlist Progress Report

A few weeks ago I made my Summer Shopping Wishlist. On that list, I tried to stick to items I needed or really really wanted....

It's been 6 weeks and I thought I'd post an update of how I'm doing acquiring these things. Clearly, I was thrown off course a few times with some Anthro mark downs, but I think I'm doing pretty good.

Jean Shorts - CHECK!

I originally posted these 7 For All Mankind Roll Up Jean Shorts , but since I didn't want to spend $149 on shorts, I opted for cheapie favorite Forever 21.... $9.50, ok!
7 For All Mankind Roll Up Jean Shorts - ShopBop $149

5-Pocket Denim Short - Forever 21 $10.50 (online price)

Boho-esque Peasanty Style Top (previous description, now I'll just refer to them as "Blouses") - CHECK!

I had posted this light, airy, and white Soft Joie top, but after going through my blogger blouse inspired phase and subsequent colorful print blouse window shopping, I'm now the owner of the latter two pretties....
Soft Joie Mesa Top - ShopBop $118

Flowering Pasture Blouse - Anthropologie $128

Tucker The Blouse - Piperlime $169.99

Tory Burch Revas - still open

Tory Burch Distressed Python Print "Reva" Flats - ShopBop $235

Camisoles - (also) still open
Spaghetti Strap Camisole - Ann Taylor $28

Tops in Bright Colors and Prints - Half Check

Refresher, these were my original inspirations / must haves....
Fragrant Fields Scoopneck - Anthropologie $78

Coil Flower Tank - Anthropologie $58

Silence & Noise Printed Ruffle Zip Back Cami - Urban Outfitters $48 (now $19.99)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Confetti Streamers Top - Revolve Clothing $129
...and here's what I have picked up so far
Buds and Bunches Tee (mine is in blue) - Anthropologie $29.95

Dotted Lace Trim Top - F21 $3.50
(I guess this could count as a cami too... and at $3.50 I should have bought one in every color!)

As usual, I stocked up on blues.... I could definitely use some orange/sepias, green/avocados, and purple/plum tones in the mix....

Boots for Fall - (another) Half Check

I was able to score my black leather foldover boots, but I'm still wishlisting a cognac pair of flat riding boots like these Frye's...
Frye Melissa Button Boot Cognac Leather - Zappos $318

For 6 weeks in, I think I'm doing pretty good with my acquisitions.  However, now that July is almost upon us, it's time to gear up for the Fall inventory rollout.... or time to gear up for a new 'wishlist'  :)

  1. For camis (which are a must!), I recommend Nordstrom BP's simple $12 camisoles. They are made well and last long... I wear mine daily and wear them out until they start to fade, which is about 2 years. In my opinion, that is pretty good for something that gets washed weekly! They have a million colors and are super-simple (which is what i look for in a camisole). Anyway, that's my two cents! :)

  2. Awesome thanks for the rec Justine! Are they like nylon or cotton though?? I like the nylon/lycra ones better (hold up in washing/dont fade).... I keep seeing the ones I norm buy (the limited, AT, etc) but its like Buy 1, Get the 2nd 50% off... and 1 costs like $24.50... isn't worth it right now... but $12 is awesome :)

  3. I LOVE the Flowering Pasture Blouse...so much so that I have had it in my cart for over a week and I look at it everyday online but I keep freezing when it's time to actually buy it. Do you really love it? I haven't seen it in person but do you think it is something that will transition into fall as well. Oh, I also LOVE those Frye boots! Your style is very similar to mine, I also have the Buds and Bunches Tank (two of them) and those 7 shorts!

  4. Rachel - I love the blouse! I've worn it 3x so far this month (once back in my last OOTW post, once on vaca, and again last fri night to a friend's for dinner). It's been great even in hot weather because its so lightweight.

As for fall... I think it could transition if you add boots and blazer, have it as nice pop of color... or even layer it over a long sleeve.. I couldn't believe I paid full price, but it was def worth it. <3

The boots are going to have to be my big "fall" purchase... Sounds like you've got great style ;)

  5. I love your picks. I agree with Justine on getting camis at Nordstrom. I also get mine at Express and Target. No need to spend a lot of money on simple basics!

  6. Thanks for the info on the Flowering Pastures Blouse. I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger, I think I would get a lot of wear out of it and it's so pretty! I can't wait to see pics of the boots when you get them!!

  7. Beautygirl - Are the cami's like the cotton stretch with the built in bras?? For some reason I really dislike those (I know that's what Express used to sell)... I really like the nylon stretchy ones with no bra shelf... I try to get them at the outlets when I can, but I'll def look into the BP dept and Target too

  8. Yay!! Congrats Rachel :) You'll love it, seriously... and if not, Anthro has the greatest return policy :)
